Meetings are held in the village hall in Dennington on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm.
Although WI meets on the second Wednesday of the month, there are a number of arranged visits and events during the year. In addition to these, there are a number of events that are organised by Suffolk East WI and members can attend for a reduced charge. The events range from countryside walks to cookery or gardening demonstrations.
These are the remaining events in the Calendar for this year. We have many interesting speakers to look forward to!

Report to Annual Parish Meeting
Another very successful year, Mrs Cullingford’s enthusiastic leadership has resulted in a lively, friendly WI which has welcomed an encouraging numbers of visitors and prospective new members.
We have enjoyed a good variety of speakers throughout the year.
The resolutions meeting in May led to a lively, intelligent and well informed debate with members indicating by a majority in favour of abstaining.
On a somewhat wet evening in July 39 members and their partners celebrated our 100th birthday with a BBQ which concluded with the cutting of a beautiful cake by our newest member.
Our annual meeting is held in November.
Decembers meeting is our much enjoyed Christmas meal.
During the year members have attended Federation events, quiz evenings, the annual meeting, speakers showcase, the batten passing afternoon and SE holidays. Unfortunately we did not attend the picnic due to the very wet weather.
We have completed the centenary survey and the petition for toilets at Ipswich bus station. Our suggestion of a photograph of Saxtead Mill was successful for the 2016 calendar.
To continue with the centenary celebration we have made a new cloth for the table at monthly meetings.
Several members knitted 70 hats for the premature baby unit. We continue to maintain the flower pots at the village hall also provided cakes for the Dennington Hall farm open day and refreshments for the fund raising quiz for the village hall. Members have also been involved with the monthly coffee morning.
We were extremely proud to read our member, Vivian Bamford’s, article on “Wild in the Country” in WI Life in October.
Outings have been enjoyed with visits to Sizewell B and Bruisyard Hall.
In all a very busy year with a most varied and enjoyable programme of events which has lead to lively meetings in a friendly atmosphere.
